Where are they now - Gary Brabin - 23 Oct 2008

Gary is currently the Manager of Cambridge United, and this is what he sent us:

"I played for Runcorn for three years, and thoroughly enjoyed my time whilst I was there and I still stay in touch with all of the boys I played with, especially John Carroll and Jimmy Brown - all of them whom I still class as my best mates!

"Whilst I had a great time off the pitch I loved playing for Runcorn, especially making the FA Trophy final twice at Wembley. I left Runcorn to go to Doncaster Rovers for £55k and part of the deal was to return with Doncaster to play in a friendly vs Runcorn which was a great moment for me.

"After moving around to several Clubs after my Linnets departure I've since decided to make the move into management and I am enjoying the transition upwards, although I still have moments where I wish I was still playing again - I am desperately trying to get back into training with my lads to relieve some of the management pressures!

"I was gutted when the original Runcorn fell apart and I wish the Linnets well in the future success and I hope they can climb back to where they belong."
