The Northern Premier League

David Phillips

Position : Management

David has been our goalkeeping coach for the last two seasons and is serving his third Linnets manager.

He will no doubt have been delighted to see Danny Taberner have such a spectacular season in 2022-23 and also to aid the development of Under-21s graduate Josh Roberts as our back-up 'keeper.

The season was less chaotic than the previous campaign, when Linnets had to overcome multiple goalkeeping changes, due to injuries in the second half of the campaign.

The biggest challenge last time around was Tabs' unavailability through suspension for the play-off semi-final at Leek Town.

It caused a couple of sleepless nights for all concerned, not least David, but the emergency signing of Elliot Wynne provided a fitting solution.

A Runcorn fan since the early 2000s, David was initially recruited to the backroom team in 2012-13, serving as deputy kitman and then kitman.

He subsequently became involved in coaching our 'keepers, initially as assistant to successive goalkeeper coaches Chris Appleton and Graeme Hewitt.

David Phillips is not available for sponsorship at this time.
