Position : Defender

James is embarking on his second season as club captain.

He had previously been deputy and slotted into the skipper's role very successfully.

James joined us for 2020-21 from Witton Albion, where he had been a regular starter.

Likewise, the player has made the Runcorn No.3 shirt very much his own.

A very firm favourite with the Linnets crowd, he ended last season just shy of 100 appearances in the Yellow & Green,

James had joined Witton in summer 2018 after five years at Marine.

This followed the Crosby club's relegation from the NPL Premier Division.

In January 2020, the defender was chosen by Marine's fans for their all-star team of the previous decade.

James' other clubs have included Morecambe, Warrington Town, Skelmersdale United and Burscough.
