18 Dec 2016 : Lauren Jones takes on club physiotherapist role

In announcing the appointment of the new club physiotherapist, Runcorn Linnets are delighted to welcome back Lauren Jones into the ranks.

Lauren succeeds Carl Rutter in the post, having spent several months with the Linnets last season, working alongside Carl to gain experience.

After gained her Level 3 Diploma in Sports Therapy, Lauren will now continue her education, combining studies alongside her work with the Linnets.

The New Year will see Lauren start work on gaining a Level 4 qualification with a view to taking a degree.

She said: "I am extremely excited to be joining the Linnets as it will be my first professional role as a Club Therapist and I was so warmly welcomed by all the staff and players when I assisted last season.

"I am very keen to develop my knowledge in Sports Therapy and cannot wait to broaden my career."

Linnets manager Michael Ellison said the club is very pleased to be able to welcome back Lauren in a senior capacity.

He said: "When the position became vacant, we felt it important that we brought in someone that we knew and could relate to and a person who was familiar with some of our players and staff and how the club operates.

"Because of the time Lauren spent with us last season, we felt that she would be an ideal choice and we were delighted that, on speaking to her, she was more than happy to accept the role."
