21 May 2022 : Tribute to the late Arthur Easton, Linnets Trust member and fan

The club is extremely sorry to have heard that stalwart Runcorn Linnets supporter Arthur Easton has passed away at the age of 75.

Quiet and unassuming, Arthur was a regular at our games for a number of years - travelling to home and away matches from his home in Widnes. He was also a Trust Member.

Paying tribute to his friend, fellow Linnets fan Brian Healey said: "Arthur had been watching the Linnets since their return to Runcorn in 2010.

"I got to know him 11 years ago when he sat near me in the stand . I recognised him from a country music club in Widnes and we struck up a friendship based on our mutual interest in the Linnets and country music.

"I then found that he lived round the corner from me in Widnes. We started travelling to away matches together.

"In recent years, Arthur only went to more local away games due to health issues but rarely missed a home game.

"Other than football, his main passion was country music and he was well known at country music clubs all round Merseyside.

"He was a lovely man who will be greatly missed by all who knew him."

The club's thoughts are with Arthur's family and friends at this sad and difficult time.

The funeral service at noon on Thursday, June 9th at GreenAcres Funeral Park in Rainford will be followed by interment at Foxes Bank Cemetery, Whiston.
