Welcome to the official website of Runcorn Linnets FC.

We are a registered society under the Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies Act 2014 and were formed in the 2006 off-season by the fans of the now defunct Runcorn FC (which was playing under the name "Runcorn FC Halton" at the time). Although when we formed we were technically a "new" club, the Linnets were given special dispensation by the FA to be treated as a reformed version of Runcorn FC - the special dispensation was necessary as the old club had simply become dormant, choosing not to field a team, as opposed to ceasing to exist as a legal entity.

We currently play in the North West Counties Football League, and were awarded Charter Standard in October 2011.

Earlier kick off at 1874 v Linnets to avoid England clash

Runcorn Linnets have agreed to a request from 1874 Northwich for the kick-off in the North West Counties League Premier Division game at Barton Stadium on Saturday, September 5th to be brought forward to 2pm. This should enable any fans of both clubs wishing to also watch England's 5pm ko Euro Qualifying Group E clash in San Marino to be back in front of the TV in good time.

Phase Two of pitch panel sponsorship now complete

All pitch perimeter panels available for sponsorship in the second order have now been allocated, the last of these being taken at the Maine Road home match by long-distance fan Peter Smith on behalf of the Basingstoke Linnets.

Peter has been back in Runcorn for the week and will have been delighted by two successive victories. Thanks to Peter and all those who have sponsored panels. Our volunteer workforce is expected to start installing the panels on the dugout side of the ground in the next week to 10 days.

Runcorn Linnets would be grateful if outstanding payments could be made as soon as possible please. Meanwhile, the club has started a waiting list for any individuals, groups or organisations wishing to sponsor a panel in Phase Three.

Annual Trust memberships due on September 1st

Existing and potential new Trust members of Runcorn Linnets FC Limited are reminded that ALL annual memberships expire on August 31st 2015 and become due for renewal on September 1st 2015.

There is no need to wait to renew - this can be done immediately by downloading an application form and sending the completed form with relevant subscription to the official club address shown.

Alternatively, you can pick up a copy of the form from the Information Station (next to the hospitality room) in the clubhouse. These are also available on request from the Trust secretary, Dave Bettley.

The membership fees are 5 (full adult membership - age 16 yrs and over); 3 for Young Linnets (Under 16s) and seniors (aged 65 and over); 10 for family membership (two adults and two children).

Membership will remain open throughout the 2015-16 membership year which runs from September 1st 2015 to August 31st 2016 but a full subscription is payable irrespective of the joining, rejoining or renewal date.

We would urge those fans who are not already a member to seriously consider doing so. As a members club, The Trust is at the heart of our constitution and crucial to the running (and success) of the club.

Richie Mottram hits the headlines in issue two of TheNonLeague magazine

The September issue of TheNonLeague, the new monthly football magazine for supporters of North West non-league football, is available now to buy directly from Runcorn Linnets FC or just 3.

Following the successful launch of the first issue last month, TheNonLeague has been extended to include Barrow FC, FC Halifax Town, Wrexham FC, Colwyn Bay and Kendal Town and is now a full colour 116 page magazine filled with articles and images from all 79 of the region's non-league clubs.

TheNonLeague has continued with its promise to provide unrivalled monthly coverage of all the North West teams playing their football in The National League through to NWCFL 1st Division, and have again produced a two-page spread on teams playing in Step 7.

This month's issue also includes interviews with former Manchester United and England defender and current Salford City co-owner Gary Neville, Fleetwood Town Chairman Andy Pilley, Wrexham defender Sean Newton, Warrington gaffer Shaun Reid and Stalybridge Celtic's Jack Higgins.

There are also special features with three times BDO World Darts Finalist Tony O'Shea, and footballer turned full-time model Gareth Seddon as well as in depth coverage of all the clubs in the region.

Every copy sold by us makes money for Runcorn Linnets.

The cover cost of the magazine is 4.50 per issue but TheNonLeague magazine will continue to deliver special 'matchday' versions to the club. Each issue will have a promotional sticker on the front cover stating that if supporters buy their copy from their club, it will only cost 3 (a saving on the cover cost of 1.50)

The additional bonus is that Runcorn Linnets will also receive 1 from each sale!!
