Ally completed a century of Linnets appearances during the 2022-23 season as our then longest-serving player. However, he left in summer 2023 to rejoin Trafford.

He had arrived at Runcorn on March 1st 2019, finishing the 2018-19 season as our first-choice right back.

It was a position Ally held onto in the two uncompleted, Covid-affected seasons and the two full seasons which have since followed.

Delivering consistently fine performances both defensively and when pushing forward to supplement the attack, his fitness is likewise exemplary.

Ally joined Linnets from fellow Northern Premier League Division One club, Trafford (where he had been in his second spell), bringing plenty of experience at Steps Three and Four.

He was initially part of the Trafford team, which won promotion to the NPL Premier Division in 2012-13, having made his debut in October of that season.

On moving to Warrington Town in summer 2015, Ally helped to lift the Yellows out of the old Division One North in 2015-16.

Renowned for his ability to attack down the right touchline at pace, Ally's other clubs have included Radcliffe Borough, Chorley, Droylsden and Witton Albion.
