20 Jun 2017 : Support is needed to keep Travel Club on the road

At the end of last season, our Travel Club organiser, John Greenhalgh retired from his role and with the loss at the same time of a few other regular users, fears were expressed that the regular minibus to Linnets away ganes would no longer be viable to run.

We have one of the biggest travelling contingents in our league but the vast majority of our following traditionally journeys to opposition grounds by car.

It was John's wish on stepping down from his 'duties' that someone would come forward to take over the running of the service.

The football club is conscious that should the minibus cease to operate, a number of staunch fans will no longer be able to follow the team on the road.

This would be a great shame and something we clearly don't want to see happen.

Trust Board member, Lee Chesterson is more than willing to keep the Travel Club operating but we would obviously need to make it feasible financially.

So we can gauge ongoing interest and assess whether we will have sufficient numbers to sustain the minibus, we would appeal to anyone interested in committing to using the Travel Club on a regular basis to get in touch.

We already have a number of pick-up and drop off points around town and the beauty of travelling by minibus is you can sit back and enjoy the trip - without having to worry about driving home, if you fancy enjoying the hospitality in our hosts' clubhouse while you are out!

You can get in touch through Contact Us on the website. or telephone Lee Chesterson on 07713194962
