Linnet Bear Travels the World

Runcorn Linnets would like to re-introduce Linnet Bear. Linnet Bear will feature in forthcoming programmes as he continues his tour around the world.

We want fans to offer to take Linnet Bear with them if they go abroad to a country he has not visited. Our aim is to send him to as many countries as possible to have his photo taken at a well known location. If you are off on holiday abroad and can help out please contact the club for the loan of Linnet Bear.

You can see Linnet Bear celebrating the move home for the '10/'11 season with him making a new shirt here

Moving on from Hong Kong, Linnet Bear paid his second visit to Australia and visited Runcorn which is a suburb of Brisbane, with a population of about 12,000 but still growing.

Brisbane has a colourful history and rich heritage. The city began as a penal settlement “for the worst class of offender”. Today its relaxed outdoor lifestyle is the envy of Australia! This is what one visitor to the site said about Runcorn (Brisbane that is!)

What I like about Runcorn

What's not to like? The whole place is a haven of multicultural bliss. Our children play safe and learn from the biggest mix of Asian, African and Muslim influences that could be imagined. The food, the drink, the lifestyle of having so many cultures together bring Runcorn to the front of my mind.
